Now that the summer is drawing to a close, we are taking our last sunny getaways for the year.
Here are a few tips by Jennifer Ford Berry from the book 'Organize Now'
The purpose of taking a vacation is to have fun, relax, and refresh. Trying to do too much when you return can undermine what you've gained by getting away. Take time to plan before you leave, and slow down when you return, so that the benefits of your vacation last much longer.
When you schedule vacation time from work, be sure to save one vacation day to recover at home.
Write your name on the inside, and outside of your luggage.
Attach something personal, such as a ribbon or sticker, to each piece of luggage to make it more recognizable at the luggage carousel.
Plan out the outfits you will wear, try to stick to three or four colors of clothing that match each other.
Remove perishables from the refrigerator, empty all your wastebaskets, and take out the garbage.
Clean your house before you leave so you can come back to a beautiful, welcoming, clutter free home!
Lock all windows and doors, and activate alarms.
When you return, make the most of your vacation day at home. Do the laundry and process the mail.
